Re: Casey Stoner: The Next Mick Doohan...or Wayne Gardner?

Stoner is still a wildcard in my book. He can be extraordinary, or he can crash every time out. I'd need another season to judge for sure. I like the kid, but he deserves the same sort of consideration that Hayden got.

Re: NO SPOILERS IN THREAD TITLES PLEASE!

I apologize for putting this here, but there doesn't seem to be a better place around. Could you change the thread lengths to 25 posts? I like it better when I can see more posts per page.

Re: The Catalunya Thread: Spoiler alert

Stoner is the breath of fresh air that MotoGp despraately needed after years of yawn-inducing Rossi domination. Get a life, sir, there's NOTHING annoying about Stoner (oh, unless you mean the fact that he beat the pants off your favourite rider all last year, I guess THAT could be annoying......

Re: Commentators

On Eurosport- I love Randy Mamola. The guy is a genius and knows a heck of a lot about racing. As for the other two...meh. If they were replaced tomorrow I wouldn't shed any tears. The dominant one (ryder?) talks faster than he thinks and I feel like he makes me dumber.

Re: Qualifying Tires???

I don't know why qualifiers were originally introduced, but they seem to hurt the race itself. A few riders, notably Edwards and Hayden, get a huge boost from qualifiers, and everyone else suffers a bit. Make everyone qualify on their race rubber and we'll have races where a fast qualifier can't hog...

Re: Has MotoGP improved?

Okay, another question: Has there ever been a time when people didn't say "MotoGP is going downhill. Technology X, Rule Change X or Factory X's Budget is causing racing to be boring"? I can't remember one. It seems to me that people only remember the really close, exciting races and their memory ch...

Re: Catalunya prediction

1. Rossi 2. Rossi 3. Rossi 4. Rossi 5. Rossi My prediction is that Rossi will clone himself multiple times before the race. Each clone will take out a front runner, leaving enough to take all of the point scoring positions. Then Rossi will do a quadruple backflip and end the world to insure that the...

Re: Dovizioso vs Lorenzo

As much as I like seeing the various manufacturers machinery race together it would be very interesting to also see all the top GP guys racing together on the exact same spec machinery for maybe a series or even a one off annual event of some sort??? Quoting myself from back in October: Rossi is un...

I love Bayliss... I love that he started racing so late in life, I love that he joined MotoGP for one race in 2006 and won it, and I love his riding style. He could have my babies.

Re: tires tires tires (thought this would have come up sooner)

I'm still annoyed that tires are an issue. Yeah it's the premier class, yeah it's a prototype series, yeah this advances tire construction technology.... I still don't give a crap about tire manufacturers. I want this series to be a competition between bike manufacturers and riders. As someone (KR?)...

Re: Silly Season '09

Aprillia will be a serious contender when they re-enter the fray. Should be interesting to see who jumps onboard, hmmmm maybe Marco or Nicky ;) From a historical standpoint this is very unlikely. It has long been proven that building a winning MotoGP bike is very difficult. In fact this is true in ...

Do you get [Wolfie]'s English feeds with the BBC commentators? I love those ones, though whoever does the color commentary talks faster than he thinks- love Randy Mamola.

Re: MotoGP rounds - which you going to? Which do you want to?

clogging: all of them :ugeek: I'm with Jupie. If I could get to every round I would be a very happy man. Since that seems ...unlikely, I'd like to see Laguna Seca, Phillip Island, and an Italian track- perhaps Mugello. As to the comments about driving/ riding the corkscrew- all I know is that every...

Re: Can Stoner defend his title ?

To disclose before I post: I've only been watching MotoGP for as long as I've been riding, which isn't very long. 2007 was my first full season. I like Rossi, Stoner, and the loveable loser Americans (for baseball fans, I'm a Cubs fan- should say something about me). Toseland is ok too. I do feel th...

Re: A whinge about motogp.com

I'm in a similar boat. I don't have cable tv in the US so I end up downloading all the races on BitTorrent a day late which kind of sucks. On the other hand the MotoGP.com website is pretty terrible and doesn't give me much faith in their ability to pull off something as difficult as live broadcasti...

Re: The Mugello Thread: Spoiler alert

And of course the non-Stoner Ducatis are back to the bottom (except Ant West, who I don't believe to be looking at a long MotoGP career). It must be humiliating to lose to a test rider. He may be on good equipment but if he hasn't been racing at this level all season long then comes and beats you hi...

Re: Rider Tier Level

Ant West in tier b? Is this the same West who is perpetually one of the last two finishers unless it rains? He could be his own tier d, perhaps along with test riders and anyone riding for Ilmor. I'd also argue that Elias should be a "b". He's not competitive this year because he's not getting along...
