Re: KTM better or worse

Pol deserves a medal for the way he's wringing the shit out of that KTM. If you get a chance to watch Pol for a couple of laps in practice just take a second to appreciate how hard he's riding. He's two wheel drifting to the apex regularly, using every last inch of the track. Watching him brake int...

Re: 2018

I don't think KTM are ready to throw in the towel just yet. In fact it will do them good. They will come back stronger. They are not quitters. Quitting is not in their DNA.

Re: DON'T TOUCH MUGELLO !

Ask the current riders. I doubt you would find any consensus that the track needs changing or the bikes need slowing down. The heart in mouth moment they have at the end of the straight is the reason they ride. If it wasnt dangerous no one would be interested riding or watching. All you need is enou...

Re: KTM better or worse

I was saying that KTM seems to have gone backwards a little this year in the race thread, so I've gone and looked at the data and I'm thinking that my statement isn't perfect, more a case off being similar results to last year 2017 Qatar 16th 33.6, 17th 33.9 Argentina 14th 43.0, 15th 43.4 US 16th 1...

Re: Silly Season 2018

Aaaaaaand now.... Speedweek says Dani close to a Yamaha factory bike deal in a satellite structure...just when you thought it was all over, the silly season is back!! Except, that move would not be silly. Pedro on a Yamaha could be a stoke of genius. The bike is clearly much less demandin...

Re: Silly Season 2018

The only decent Team/Bike left is the one that Millers gunna get. Other decent bikes/teams may appear such has Petronas Yamaha and possible Mark VDS assuming they secure some decent bikes and don't implode At this point there are only 2 rookies for next year - Mir and Bagnaia. If any others do appe...

Re: Maverick

Excellent assessment Mr Gassit. I also feel Maverick is impatient and frustrated as he feels he should be winning every race. As he said, he went to Yamaha to win a championship and that is not looking like happening while Marquez and even Dovi are finishing in front of him. He feels the bike is pre...

Re: 2018 round 7 - Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya

Any idea on the motivation behind the reversion to the origin layout? I thought they changed it because of the Salom incident. Have they now made safety modifications to allow the original to be used once again?

Maverick

I am interested in your arseholes, well maybe not your actual arseholes - more your opinions. Because as we know, everybody has one. Maverick it has to be said, is not exactly delivering on the promise of his much lauded talent. He really seems to be struggling and I am fairly sure it is not all dow...

Re: Silly Season 2018

Silly season has been so silly that if you told me months ago that the rides and moves of Iannone, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Petrucci would all hinge mostly on the signing of Mir, someone that hasn't yet won a Moto2 race, I would have laughed. This is what I was wondering... not a name I've heard of, thoug...

Re: Silly Season 2018

In 2017 they had the same engine rules as Ducati/Honda/Yamaha and they stuffed up the engine, which they had to live with throughout the season. It seemed that towards the end of the season they had some sort of workaround. Andre seemed to have lost interest in getting the best out of a pig and tha...

Re: KTM. 2018 and beyond.

KTM put in a massive effort to improve in their debut season, covering all 3 classes, something no other manufacturer does. The RC16 improved massively throughout the year but does not, so far, seem to have carried that momentum into 2018. I have to admit to being a bit of a KTM fan, having one in m...

Re: Jorge Lorenzo

When you brake very hard your body weight wants to go forward and if you are using your arms to hold yourself up, its like doing a benchpress of your own body weight (up to 1g). If you can use your thighs to grab the fuel tank and take a lot of the weight for you then its easier to save energy, and...

Re: Silly Season 2018

I have just gone through the 2017 seasons results to see what Iannone was actually doing, and I have to say its not good reading. Here is an experienced and fast motoGP pilot. Comparing the 2 Suzuki pilots round by round is a bit concerning, especially given that Rins was a rookie on a bike that did...

Re: Silly Season 2018

I think you have to be aware of the conflicting motivations in the paddock. Dorna wants to see close racing at the highest level so lots of people will watch. The manufacturers don't want this. They want total world domination with all of their riders finishing a lap ahead of any other brand. The ri...

Re: Silly Season 2018

Mr Gassit, I totally agree. In pre-season, Iannone was riding around not looking particularly interested until one of the test riders came past him. All of a sudden he finds speed. Miraculously, he was shite all last season until Rins started showing form and if you check the results you'll find he ...

Re: Silly Season 2018

Glad to see Iannone going to Aprilia. They deserve each other.

Now we just need to get Dani onto the Petronas Yamaha. I think he would perform much better on an M1.

Re: 2018 Round 6: Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley

According to Petrux, he absolutely tore up his tyre trying to get back those positions. But he also ran into fuel pump problems which dropped his speed on the straights back down to the same level as everyone else on a non-Ducati ;)

Re: Silly Season 2018

But everyone and their nan is saying Lorenzo is at Honda . It's possible Pedrosa will still land at Aprilia, but it's far more likely Iannone will. I'm really hoping Aprilia can figure out how to keep its engines from blowing up. True, but the day before they were saying he'd signed with the non ex...

Re: Lorenzo on a Honda...

Marquez is only hated by a particular element. Fans of the sport of m/cycle racing recognise his sublime skill and are thankful he is there to watch. Yes, and most of the really vile hatred is an Italians versus Spanish thing. I don't think anyone in recent memory has ridden a bike quite like Marqu...

Re: Lorenzo on a Honda...

Well, Lorenzo has clearly demonstrated he is not interested in being a team player. So he will not be riding shotgun for Marc. And in some ways, fair enough. But he would clearly need to demonstrate he is a championship contender before playing his usual "its all about me" card, as he did at Yamaha ...

Lorenzo on a Honda...

So it looks confirmed. Lorenzo to partner MM93 in 2019. My friend is a Lorenzo fanboi and thinks this will end JLo's career because the Honda is "unstable". I think Lorenzo will be at the pointy end of the timesheets immediately and will be a major championship contender in 2019. The Honda is not th...
