Re: Shut down the internet...

This really sucks. I love this sport and now this crap. Again. WTF is with REPSAL riders who have no hope of willing the championship doing mixing it up with championship leaders in the second to last race? Clearly, CLEARLY! Marquez had the speed in the last two races to beat Rossi but he chose to s...

Re: Dutch TT.

Is it wrong to be a little tired of seeing Marquez think he has passed a rider simply because his front wheel is even with the rider in front? No, it isn't (wrong). HIs remarks have actually been quite disturbing. It's one thing to say with a grin, "oh well, last corner last lap, you have to try". ...

Honda to pull out of motoGP if spec ECU introduced http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/199064/1/honda-vows-motogp-withdrawal-over-ecu-plans.html “Should MotoGP go for a control ECU, it's 99 per cent sure Honda will leave,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport. “The reason why Honda goes grand prix racing is t...

And Toni Elias being given a spare set of Michelin overnight specials which Dani Pedrosa had decided not to use. which very eloquently makes the case for the spec tyre. Or not, if you happen to like surprises. Now, everyone is on the same tire, and the same guys always win, because they are the bes...

Re: Interesting take on the future of MotoGP/WSBK

you must have pay cable/satellite channels in the US - what is on them if all major sports and hit TV shows are on free to air channels? Maybe that's where some of the disconnect is here. When you said pay per view, I took it to mean you pay for access to that one event or one sporting category. No...

That explains why the Super Bowl, World Series and every other major sporting event is free to view. In fact, if what you say were true, most hit tv shows would be pay-per-view which they obviously are not. Pay-per-view is where you go when advertisers are not interested. Premier league, champions ...

Re: Interesting take on the future of MotoGP/WSBK

I guess I disagree that more corporate involvement is going to bring down ticket prices and give me free-to-air coverage; that's not happened with any sport I can think of. That is a valid point. Corporate involvement doesn't effect prices or coverage directly. Both are driven by the same factor......

Re: Nicky Hayden - MotoGP in 2014 or not??

Hayden has clear preferences, but he is influenced too much by what he hears from the other side of the garage. How much of that is the result of being treated as a no. 2 rider his entire time on MotoGP? Even after winning a WC. Is it possible he's simply learned to not rock the boat? Some how it's...

Your future contains lots and lots of software. It doesn't matter whether you like it or not, that's the way it is. Live with it. Though I agree in general with Mr PTH, I think it misses a major component of the problem. This isn't just "programming". This is programming by people with extensive un...

MOTM - Tech 3. Those were satellite bikes hounding a factory Repsol bike. To me, that was closer racing for more laps with more bikes than I can remember and it was because the Tech 3 guys were in it. DOTM - Spies' team. Re: Ducati goings on. Part 2.

IMO its a massive injustice to speak to Hayden's place and the going on's at Ducati. He's had zero input at Ducati. Heck, he's had zero input his entire MotoGP career. He's been team mates with Rossi (lead rider), Biaggi (lead rider), Pedrosa (unspoken but we all know he was the lead rider from day ...

Re: Ducati goings on. Part 2.

This more thought and not some much a statement. Rossi and Hayden are one of the few pairs of rides to ever race together on two separate teams. I haven't looked back to see the exact numbers but we all know how well Rossi did at HRC on the 990, but I recall that Hayden podium quite often when they ...

Re: What would YOU do to save MotoGP

Step 1: Accept that the only way to greater financial stability is for closer racing across the entire field. Factories do not want this. Grid filling will not solve this. Step 2: Accept that the race coverage is crap. Everyone gets board of watching processional racing and missing the passes becaus...

Re: CRT claiming cost

IMO there are some interesting possibilities here. With only MSMA able to claim at most four from any one CRT then the development costs are not that big of a limit. If a CRT put's a $100K into engine development then at most they will lose $320K in a season to claiming rules. Not a small amount but...

I think everyone is over thinking this a little bit. It seemed logical that with all four alien's having their contracts run out at the same time it would create a bidding war. But that's not how bidding wars happen. It's how they end. Lot's of choices for a limited number of rides. In fact, the col...

That's a great bike lump of a bargaining chip right there. At the same time Lorenzo's options on where else he could go are about closed out as well. Once HRC resigns Pedrosa...what's left? At that point, Yamaha just has to sit back and wait. JL's not going anywhere as his threat of leaving is only...
