Re: Round 14 - Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli

Clockwise track so I imagine Marquez won't do insanely well. Don't know his record here. This will be another test for his real status No idea who is going to do well here but I love Misano. I can see Fabio cleaning up if he gets good tires, probably with the factory Ducatis finishing the podium. I ...

Re: MotoGP 2021, Aragon. Win or bin, which Marquez will show up?

Pecco's win is multiplied by the # of thwarted Marc passes. He held off a Marc in "nothing to lose" mode... brilliant. I hope he's able to be consistent at the front next year.

Re: Will Marquez become the greatest racer of all Time?

I'm gonna wait until next year to really assess where Marc is at. Once he has a full winter to recover and HRC gets that time to fix the bike we can get a real assessment of where he's at. I do think the grid has moved a few steps forward in his absence. I think every factory has at least 2 riders ...

I dont know if we'll ever see another Casey Stoner, if for no other reason than no factory would put out a bike as bad as the Ducatis he tamed

Re: Lolly Water British Gp

Dovi to Yamaha, I'll bet thats a waste of time,he needs a bike with 50 hp more to just stay in touch....prove me wrong ? Surprised he got the ride with all the keen young talent around ?????????????????? Tech3 raced yamahas for 20 years in GP. Dovi raced with them one season. He finished 4th in the...

Dovi on a satellite M1 feels like a good fit. Much better than leading Aprilia's factory effort. We will see how sharp he is at his age with all that time off though

Re: Michelin, destroyer of dreams?

Spec tire manufacturers always get a bum rap. The only time they get mentioned is when they change the tire, or if something goes wrong. Bikes are putting down more power than ever before, and both single lap times and race times are faster than ever before. Michelin's tires are operating at the abs...

Hopefully Michelin strikes a good balance and is able to stiffen up the front tire enough for the V4s without robbing the I4s of edge feel/grip

I think Marc is def returning to form.... hopefully he can manage his shoulder for the rest of the season and finally have a surgery free winter. Combine that with HRC hopefully making the bike easier to ride and 2022 will be interesting for Big Red

Re: The Strange Case Of Maverick Vinales

There is always 2 sides to every story I am sure he will tell his soon ( or his dad will) As for Yamaha supplying inferior bikes to morbidelli I am sure it is the same as last year when he had wins and finished well in the championship As for the factory bikes Fabio from what I remember reading has...

Re: The Strange Case Of Maverick Vinales

Maybe the skullduggery is simply taking advantage of a bike malfunction to blame MV and get him out of the team early, not pay his salary and not have to deal with him or him potentially taking points away from Fabio in future races, and also potentially shunts his career with Aprilia. It's just an...

Re: The Strange Case Of Maverick Vinales

Yamaha already terminated the contract with him at the end of the year......... I really don't see what they'd gain by launching into this conspiracy to end it a few races early. Baseless speculation and conspiracy theories were, are and always will be a waste of time and I just don't get what valu...

Re: The Strange Case Of Maverick Vinales

I'm sure we'll never know the real story, but... There must be a clause similar to Yamaha's wording in the presser, in Maverick's contract whereby they can get rid of him if it appears he is harming the equipment, or not showing Yamaha in the best light, however it is worded. Yamaha are taking the ...

Yes but if you had the opportunity to take a rider of Maverick's calibre wouldn't you take it?
It's not just caliber- there are more race winners on the grid than ever. It's a rider's temperament, adaptability and leadership qualities. Mav is near the bottom in those aspects

If that's how he feels then he's justified to move.......... but a lot of people feel "underappreciated" at their jobs because they're not good at them. All Mav has really done for Yamaha is give one race win a year.... at the expense of constantly being trashed in the press, demoralized in the box ...

Re: Silly Season

Mav to VR46 makes sense to me, on many levels, all coming back to Mav's psyche. - Duc is much more consistent in how it responds to different grip levels and tracks- won't do Mav's head in as much race to race - Not being on a factory squad means smaller paychecks and less potential, but he is alrea...

When I saw that this thread got bumped I thought of that article

Wish they had waited until after the race weekend to interview him. Would love to have heard his take on Marc's win

I still don't think they're out of the dog house.

Re: So what happens with Honda if Marc never recovers?

Again maybe I'm being too pessimistic- Marc's 2019 chip was probably his most dominant- but I am still not sure that Honda's strategy of blasting a fire hose of money at top talent to wrestle its flawed bikes is a viable one going forward. The field keeps getting more and more competitive, and every...
