Re: Mugello 2020 packages

Thanks, that does look like a good spot. For fear of everything getting booked out while I’m dithering I’ve gone ahead with what looks like one of the main players and I’m sure I’ll be happy as Larry. Don’t even ask about the cost! 60th birthday treat, something I’ll probably only do once, and a far...

Mugello 2020 packages

Happy new year all, I hope this is against posting rules but I’d appreciate some recommendations wrt going to Mugello this year. I’m looking for a good package operator I.e. one that’s reliable, decent value, uses decent hotels etc. I’ve not gone on a race package before so can’t gauge much from the...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Sepang

Hell, while I'm dreaming how about double Dani's championship points earned in the first 3 races of next year for showing the rest of the aliens how to be a decent human. +1 And for being even smaller than me. Shorties of the world unite, our time will come. Just keep an eye out for those clumsy ba...

Re: MOTM Sepang 2015...

And to continue to digress. Jorge still hasn't won a race this year other than a time trial. That's not a jibe, just a curious fact. While I've always struggled to take to him, he's made me laugh a couple of times with his quick wit in the pressers. Thursday's come back was priceless.

Re: MotoGP 2015, Sepang

a question/thought : Is it that weird people think it was only possible because of the actions of 1 rider only ? That's a good question and to be wholly honest, while I did think at the time that MM was backing them up (honest!), I'd forgotten/dismissed that thought until VR brought it up again on ...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Sepang

In this thread, has anybody convinced you that they are right/you are wrong and vice versa? I think it's worth replying to this just to try to prove that despite the large level of 'bollocks to you too' attitude in the thread, not unexpected given yesterdays' events, the thread still has the power ...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Valencia

I too wondered whether Rossi would announce his retirement before or shortly after Valencia, though the comments here have cheered me up a little! I'm not sure Marquez would dare mess with the title in Valencia, or at least not visibly. Regardless how Sepang reflects on Rossi, Marquez hardly comes o...

Re: Keith Huewen has got to go....

I wondered if this thread would survive! For myself, I don't mind Keith & Jules now, they've become part of the family. Of course they spout rubbish every now and again, we all do. It reminds me of my childhood, when I'd sit watching footie or rugby with my dad and uncle parked in the comfy chairs, ...

Re: Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón 2015

I think MM will at least want to beat JL in the championship positions. And so will Honda! So I shan't be surprised if we see some tactical racing from marks and pedders this weekend. (I know, that's a terrible play on names, but hey ho).

Re: MotoGP 2015, Jerez. Things get serious now.

I believe he's already stated that he feels like he can race till he's 40. It'd be great if he does. So, he's on 110 wins now in all classes, versus 122 for Ago'. So cracking that record this year is quite a stretch though not entirely impossible. However, according to Wikipedia, Ago has 15 titles ...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Jerez. Things get serious now.

If Rossi is going to challenge for the title, we should know after this round. If? I don't think there's any 'if' about it, while he's been careful to not make any big statements so far I'm 100% certain that he's only got one acheivement in mind for this year. The biggest question for me is whether...
I can't help but feel a bit sorry for Jorge. While I found his celebrations tacky and irritating, I had to take my hat off to him for his sheer grit at Assen last year, not to mention getting back on a bike after those horrendous an...

Re: MotoGP on UK TV

Sadly, I caved in. I simply couldn't bear to not watch VR46 get his 10th title this year :D . The Dorna site is just too poor on quality for me, so BT have got me by the short & curlies for another 18 months (he says through gritted teeth). Re: Honda announce Pedrosa replacement.

Loved Cal's comment in the BT Sport interview "Finally, I'd like to thank all of the people who had written me off", almost made me laugh as much as his celebrations as he crossed the line. Great to see a non-factory team on the podium in any case, it doesn't happen often these days! No offence but...

I seriously wonder what would be the reaction if Rossi had been the one who crashed out. Well I for one would have been seriously pissed off, if it had been through that inci...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Round 3, Argentina. Will the real Lorenzo
I think in some ways Jorge is in a similar place to where VR was in 2010. (It was 2010 wasn't it, when he last rode with Yamaha?). In that instance, the bike seemed to be being built around Jorge or at least favoured him and VR often looked like he expecte...

Re: I hope MotoGP never goes down this path

To be honest I've never really understood the grid girl thing, and I'm no spring chicken. Although I'm generally indifferent to football, one change over the years that I think is really good is that the players now come on to the pitch with a bunch of kids. That's such a positive image and it must ...

Re: Round 2: COTA *Spoilers*

I'm no aerodynamist, but might it be that the dukes are 'slippier' than the yams, and get more benefit from the slipstream? Just a thought, because if I remember correctly, VR wasn't really getting anywhere through slipstreaming, just hanging on, but Dovi was able to blast past every time, that is u...

David, I couldn't find any info on renewing my subscription on the forum or main site so hope this does the trick - do you automatically renew subs or send an auto-reminder? I'm just conscious that it must be getting near that time of year for me to renew.

Dani doesn't come across as the life and soul of the party but people forget he's a 3 time world champion(or do we not count 125 and 250 titles anymore?) and hard as nails to race with some of the injuries he's carried through the years and I see people calling him "pussy" "coward" "looking for a w...

Re: MotoGP on UK TV

To answer the earlier question about how it works out at £400 for motogp via BT Sport; I use freesat for my tv, which is free to air and better quality than terrestial broadcast. I dont need fibre-optic, standard broadband is more than okay, and due to the price war I can get that free for 12 months...

It also appears that it's E199 whichever country you come from, that there is no standard pass this year. For those are still inclined to shell out, it's worth watching the conversion rate - the euro is steadily sinking against the pound. I've done the maths here, and worked out that to simply get w...

Re: MotoGP on UK TV

Same here, can't see any standard subscription, so it's 199 even though I'm not particularly interested in multi-screen. I feel a full-on, Victor Meldrew moment coming on. I think Dorna are seeing just how far they can push it, by just under-cutting BT. Maybe the maths stack up, that the lost audien...
