Re: Phillip Island Trackday (rental)/MotoGP -also hi!

Thanks Tumi&Albert (whom I've PM'd)--I'm on their site now and it seems they've updated the calendar. The bike hire option isn't there, unfortunately--I'll try and send them an email. Feeling slightly giddy about the thought of riding PI. Renting a GSXR6 and the day + gear would work out at around $...

Phillip Island Trackday (rental)/MotoGP -also hi!

Hey everyone. It's been a real while since I've posted, but I've been pretty caught up in Korea. I used to post really regularly basically as a kid when I was in England. Long story short. Bike wise, I raced (my first ever race, first time on bike, first time on track, I'm 6'6" and 95kg) in the 250c...

Re: BSB Tommy Hill comments

Feeding the problem... Okay.

Some of them can bring money but some can't and are in BSB because it's the only place that'll pay riders, right?

BSB Tommy Hill comments

So, between the Supersport and 2nd Superbike race yesterday, I couldn't help but notice Tommy Hill basically start spouting a load of crap about all 'them foreigners' coming into the BSB series and choking home-grown talent. He went on like this for about 30 seconds and Tony Carter and the chaps in ...

It was mentioned they now have an ex-Magneti Marelli chap in the garage who is handy as hell with the electronics. By Whitham in the commentary.

The Obligatory Post Your Bike Topic

I believe I'm going to be procuring a little 90cc Daelim supermoto- make that averagemoto -100kph of glory! Only 300 bucks though so what the hell. Need to find some lanes methinks. Pics when I get it in a couple weeks!

I'm moving to Korea!

Ah, I'm glad to hear you're following it! Some people regard me with quite a lot of caution but when I speak the little Korean I know they seem very pleased. Which is nice. Some English teachers come here and learn 3 or 4 words, it's crazy!

I'm moving to Korea!

Thanks guys! Albert- one of the reasons I'm going is to stop paying council tax and 20% tax on my earnings... that plus no rent charge here means I can easily save a budget to go racing in a year or two- and properly, too, 1000cc superstock. Would prefer 600s but I'll be too old then! Phil, I'll be ...

Cheers guys! And thanks Jerry, that would be great. Heng, Richo, cheers! If I'm about for Motegi I'll see if you guys are- failing that a few drinks wouldn't go amiss at some point.

I'm moving to Korea!

So on Tuesday I'm off to go and teach for a couple of years in the public school system in South Korea, in Changwon, near Busan. Basically after running out of money to go racing this year I realised I hated my job and thought I'd best do something different while I still had the chance- no connecti...

Dovi was the only guy who could take it to Jorge for about 3 or 4 races last year- and he learned a lot from it, I think. Fell off a few times pushing and I think that was pretty important in his development.

Re: 2011 R7 Assen Race Topic ** Spoilers**

Yes. It involved Ben Bostrom during one of the WSBK qualifying (could not remember which year though). Caught one while leaned over and the front just folded. No chance. One question I've always meant to ask is, has anyone every had a moment due to running over a tear-off? You'd have to be bloody u...

I think we can discount quite a bit of this year as well.

Re: Chasing the Holy Grail - Title Battle

Lucy, really? The Ducati thing just seems like a clever manipulation of the rules to me. Teams have been doing this sort of thing for years. If they want to retcon this year's bike that's fine, I guess. No need to get too butthurt over it ;)

Also 250s Sepang 2009. Watching Aoyama all season long take that Honda and drag it towards the championship shows just what a quality rider he is. Sepang 2009 was a real summing up of that season.

You'd think MCN would just build their own 1000cc V4 sportsbike and have done with it.
