Re: Round 16 - Misano

Bagnaia, Miller and Marini great qualifying. 4 in a row now for Bagnaia. When Marini spoke I had a flash back many years thought I was hearing Rossi! Looking at timesheets both Bagnaia and Miller had another couple tenths in ideal time taking their best sectors together. Most others posted close to ...

That is one scary tank-slapper for No #34.
Yeah, that is a short clip, he ultimately went down but managed to hang on long enough to thread the needle between the curbs down Bray Hill and skid on down the road without hitting anything too abruptly as I recall.

My contribution :) intro piece a few years back on the TT coverage. Nice overlay of song to the action. When I watch motogp I can relate to it, when i watch these guys I can only imagine what it must be like. Amazing. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tuhRpvKo3j8 As for Disney picking up metallica music...

Yep, very impressive. He is back full fitness and has the bike back under him again.

He was noticeably quicker at the changes in direction and his signature corner here where he takes globs of time out of people a fast left at crest of hill turn 10 heading down hill. He just flys thru there.

Re: Round 15 - Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas - Circuit of the Americas

On the track I did notice lots of cracks in asphalt thru the esses, the kind we’d put sealer on to keep water from coming up, but these are not sealed likely as it makes for a very unsightly surface. With the rains earlier making moist ground and the heat of today we have a perfect recipe for weeper...

I found sure way to get the attention of the staff was some close ups :) Especially when putting the camera behind the fairings for a good look at those front spars and sling low engine mount. Interesting was a round pipe at the upper junction which showed signs for adjust...

Re: Round 15 - Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas - Circuit of the Americas

Is the circuit over a swamp or something? Wasn’t it reaurfaced recently? Yes it was built on a flood plain which is why it was never developed commercial or residential. If I have time I’ll dig up some original articles on the zoning approvals to put the money (much of it tax payer money) onto a sp...

Dialogue on The Dangers of Racing

So lots being said on main page and other outlets. Also some things not being said.. First this is not a condemnation of the sport thread. Just a place to put some ideas to make it better, or say what you want about recent events. ————— Just to get started: We wanted close racing and now we have it....

Re: World SBK in 2021

Yep, fully agree. Crappy situation occurring with Vinales… As for next generation, it’s all down to Keanan putting back into the sport. You’ll notice they all run his #54 when they can. I have to say I’ve not been a fan of Keanan’s ridding in past when he was chopping it up in WSS…. But apart from t...

Re: MotoGP 2021, Aragon. Win or bin, which Marquez will show up?

Amazing race. Great result and ride by Bagnaia. Another feather in the cap for VR46 academy as well. The way he handled that Ducati was magic. Immense confidence on front braking while leaned over holding his line. I’ve never seen that from that bike. Rest of field very tight as well. All 20 finishi...

Re: MotoGP 2021, Aragon. Win or bin, which Marquez will show up?

I totally missed this thread was for this race and not just a Marquez centered one:) It’s great very tight field. It might take some time to rubber in for the corner speed styles to pick up. Intresting was for Aprillia Espargaro making the hard front work, Vinales yet to go there running the medium ...

Re: Silly Season

Fair comment, but something happened at Yamaha. Think about how he went in the first 5-6 races for them. I feel like Yamaha made a mountain out of a molehill with the over revving of the engine thing to experiment with potential riders for next year. I've always owned and love Yamaha's but I hope M...

Re: Will Marquez become the greatest racer of all Time?

It has taken a long time, longer than it should’ve been. A consequence of going too fast and the complications as a result have had the reaction of pendulum swinging too far the other way. Various stakeholders involved on a four year precovid money factory contract may have factored in too making fo...

Great races all around. SSP also was very good both races. Rea was there, Toprak was just that bit further ahead on him. Interesting how cordial and accommodating to Toprak Rea has been. Taking him under his wing as a mentor when teammates is one thing, still walking the track together and discussin...

Go for it. Even for yourself racing minis is more fun and much cheaper. Look up bikes like Ovahle or NSF100 or NSR/YSR50’s. If you’ve got kids, get them a dirt bike or electric scooter to play with while you scope out getting them on the Kart track with the mini road racer :)

Re: Michelin, destroyer of dreams?

Michellins do have a narrow range. Always have. Function of their DNA, softer carcasses means more flex and heat in the rubber compound. So depending on ambient weather, track temps, riders usage, bike setup etc, even if your following others in pack too much too closely, can effect the temperature ...

Being at back of MotoGP grid pays better than front of WSBK for the teams and riders for that matter. And for an independent to be in motogp is huge. It means millions of euros in subsidy from DORNA ontop of your own sponsorship. For Aprilla it’s meant something of a free ride to be categorized as a...

Re: World SBK in 2021

Looks to me like Rae has run out of motorcycle and is having to over ride it to compensate for the not granted 500 revs. I would love to know what Yamaha have done to the R1to make it so good so often, and not just for Toprak. Toprak is a real talent, looking a much more complete rider than his spe...
