Re: Nicky Hayden
I started watching MotoGP in 2005 when I was 20 years old, on a whim. I downloaded all the races from that season on the old Racing Underground torrent site, and eventually watched Nicky win Laguna Seca a day after it happened. His joyful and earnest disposition was infectious, his humility and poli...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Valencia
Nicky Hayden, last race Motogp. Since 2003 ive enjoyed watching Nicky & appreciate his humble demeanour. He has been a wonderful ambassador for Motogp. I want to wish him well in SBK & basically just say thanks mate, its been a great ride. Have fun at Valencia. NIcky's performances in Germany and P...

Re: 2015 title battle, 5 GPs in and beyond
The debate has mostly been about whether Marquez or Lorenzo is on Rossi's mind. I wonder how far it's Rossi that's on Rossi's mind - that this is about stirring shit up in ways which motivates him to find another few % and vindicate himself, with others as collateral damage. Take the sacking of Jer...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Jerez. Things get serious now.
Is it possible Rossi sanbags as a part of mindgames? Perhaps, although I don't think Rossi has been able to really sandbag a practice session (as far as I can recall) since way back in 2006/2007. There's just way too much speed on the grid to sit back and not work on the last 0.001% of your setup. ...

Re: MotoGP 2014, Misano.
^^ Vale typically struggles at those tracks, so I'm definitely expecting a great ride tomorrow. That was definitely the best qualifying session of the year, and the pace of the Yamahas are definitely encouraging. I wonder what about Misano's layout causes the Hondas to suffer so much, to the point t...

What's that quote? "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience." :D Which reminds me of a nice story concerning an encounter between John Wesley and ‘Beau’ Nash in Bath. Walking towards Wesley along a narrow pavement, Nash is said to have proclai...

I can't help but notice how quickly Rossi gets up to speed in FP now. He was all over FP1 before MM put up that 1'48.0. Again, incredibly impressive stuff from Marc. But Rossi looks like his confidence is exponentially growing. I'm cautiously optimistic for fireworks on Sunday.

Re: Lorenzo's Physical Condition
I'd like to see him refocus and regroup and set himself a new goal for 2014, since it looks like the title is out of reach. ... I can understand it too, what the f*** is the point in risking everything, maybe crashing and picking up a bitch of an injury just to get on the podium? Especially when ev...

For the sake of variety: MOTM: Miller. Great Ride, strong (perhaps too strong) finish. Good to see from him. HM: Kallio. It seems that whatever confidence problems the Fin was dealing with the past few years is long past, and his speed regained. It's good to see him flying at the front again. DOTM: ...

Looks like MM has found a Mario Kart-style shortcut on the track again, that involves a banana skin and jumping over the central wall :) 7 tenths of a second. Seven tenths of a second. Jesus fucking wept while riding a bicycle, you run out of adjectives. Mario Circuit on the N64 per chance? :D I wa...

Krop, for reasons I understand, the wording on your front page article regarding this subject in some areas opens up an interesting question. Knowing how political this game is.......... Was this Rossi's decision, or something of an ultimatum , or "push" from Yamaha/Jarvis ? This gpOne article seem...

Re: Burgess staying home in 2014?
My wholly uninformed opinion: I don't think this choice has anything to do with Burgess' technical ability or skill. Rossi knows how fortunate he was to have JB as his crew chief, and he never has anything but high praise for JB when he's asked about it. I think this is something that Rossi needs to...

Re: Nicky Hayden - MotoGP in 2014 or not??
It would be a pity if Nicky simply left MotoGP after this season. A former World Champion left out like this? It's a rare occurrence. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of this is the 2013 Honda bike. It's a power hungry, 1000 cc point and shoot monster running at the highest level. Brake late, g...

I'm a bit surprised that someone as visible as Birt would do this. It definitely smells like "Beat them to the Punch" move to me. I dont know if the move is an attempt to save his image, (save face rather than being canned) or deliberately just to slam Yamaha, or both. The wording of his email "press release" seems to indicate the latter - I can't recall Ben ever ...

An interesting race, to be sure. Wonderful control and focus from Lorenzo, and great to see Pedrosa and Hayden finish on the rostrum. Looks like the Hondas are fast, but still within the reach of the Yamaha boys. One Repsol, though, needs a bit of a kick in the rear: I'm very surprised with Dovi's p...

10 pts FOR Casey leading by 3+ seconds at the start of the penultimate lap
10 pts FOR Dovi finishing ahead of Marco

Re: Phillip Island 2010 Race Topic **Spoilers**
I always love it when someone puts on a thoroughly dominant display. That was Casey in 2007 "F*** Everyone" mode. Great, great ride. It looked like he was riding a rocket sled out there. With Casey wrapping up by the race by the second corner, I was almost glad to see Rossi have a rather pedestrian ...
