Re: 2019 R3 - US 14 April Red Bull Grand Prix of The America

Was it the last race when Marquez broke a chain in free practice? Now it's Lorenzo in Q2. I'm wondering if there's a story there into why Honda's are breaking chains Simon in pitlane was saying that it could be because of the carbon fibre swingarm. Something about when it provides flex etc could be...

Re: 2018 round 19 - Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenc

Mavericks crash was down to a fruity traction control system cutting power where it shouldn't and full power where it shouldn't. Although I thought GPS and turn by turn TC wasn't allowed. And yes regarding the lack of injuries, it is good to see. In the slow Mo of Luthi's crash they highlighted his ...

Agreed. Petrucci has a fair bit to go to keep that spot after next year. Unfortunately it seems like his size and weight are considerable factors in his performance.

Re: Jorge Lorenzo

My understanding was also that Ducati dumped him. In another interview recently he said he wanted to stay with Ducati and that only when it became apparent that they didn't want him did he knock on HRC's door.

Re: 2018 round 19 - Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenc

Well said warthog. I am very interested to see how everyone goes with the spec IMU. It that the trick that Honda and Ducati have been using and Yamaha haven't been able to get the same gains? Does that mean Yamaha will be closer next year with the spec IMU. That being said I do think Marc and Dovi d...

Re: 2018 round 19 - Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenc

It's not really a lose/lose for Lorenzo if he thinks the Thai crash was Ducati's fault for their malfunction. --- Seems like a lot of small things happening at once while they have to get the engine right. No big deal. Ask Yamaha. I thought it was accepted fact that it was Ducati's fault for the ac...

Re: 2018 round 19 - Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenc

Haven't heard about Lorenzo yet. Either way I think he's in a lose-lose situation. If he rides he won't be fit enough to be competitive. If he doesn't ride he'll get flack for not riding and thinking only of his Honda ride. Weather is supposed to be iffy this weekend isn't it? Yamaha's are weird at ...

Re: 2018 round 18 - Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix

I've got to say I was super nervous watching Marc this race. Maybe it was all the moments he was having during practice but the way he was dancing that thing on the front had me on tenterhooks the whole time! It was crazy!

Cameras

Hey guys, Have been wanting to ask this question for awhile. Am I the only one who misses the non-gyro onboard cameras? There was one this weekend on the front of Marc's bike and I loved it! I feel it shows how cranked over the boys get better than the gyro cam. And there seems to be one camera that...

The pictures that I've seen shows a fire extinguisher at every garage on the wall. Must have been the wrong type for the fire otherwise I can't imagine why they wouldn't have used it immediately.

Re: 2018 round 18 - Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix

I am highly doubtful that Lorenzo will be able to ride. I guess for him personally, as much as he'd love to ride, for him personally I'm sure the post season test is more important. So I do hope he's fully recovered for that. Really hope Hafizh does well too. We haven't had any real close races in S...

Re: Yamaha electronics problems?

Again, Mat Oxley's article explains this very well (in my mind anyway). There is an engine issue. The too light crank causing problems when the throttle is shut off and when the throttle is picked up again. As with a fast flowing Phillip island, these two things don't happen anywhere near as much. P...

Re: Would Team Suzuki in shape to fight for the top 5 in 201

Runs really needs to get better during Friday and Saturday. He's too often buried in the lower end of the timesheets and leaves himself with a lot of work to do on Sunday. Mir will be interesting. Part of me definitely expected better things from him this year what with all the talk he generated.

so with a crap inline-4 that should be a V4, the same electronics but a new guy at the keyboard, no budget and no develompent on a ten year old bike, Mav did that. What's the next thing people will imagine to be Yamaha's big problem ? I know you can only race against the guys who are on track, but ...

Re: 2018 round 17 - Michelin® Australian Motorcycle Grand P

Interestingly as David pointed out, Marc's crashed here in 14 and 16, after winning the title in motegi! However Marc is aware of this trait now and as with his other weaknesses is looking to fix it.

What happened in Moto2 fp1? Very long red flag, due to track conditions.

Re: Yamaha electronics problems?

I am getting more and more concerned with Yamaha, not only their lack of understanding of what the problem is, but solutions to fix it. As has been pointed out, nothing new with Nakasuga's M1. Sure he's not the pace of the top guys but he's still fast enough to test something. Maverick mentioned he ...

Yes I think it's without a doubt that Dovi made too many mistakes to really be a championship contender for awhile. However it's the difficulties in getting the Ducati to work at consostently at all tracks that has kept Rossi in contention for second.

Re: 2018 round 16 - Motul Grand Prix of Japan

Very disappointed that Lorenzo can't race. Very disappointed that the back half of season has been ruined in fact! And I think it's fair to say that even if he hadn't had the Aragon crash, that played no part in his massive off in Thailand. He has to be concerned about the test post Valencia more th...

I was going to out this in the thread about the MotoGP.com subscription but thought it might not get the attention it deserved. Just saw a post from MotoGP.com that Marc's documentary following his 2017 season is now free on MotoGP.com. I've seen it and it is awesome and very much worth watching. Ev...

I think Marc will have a battle on his hands to get past Dovi but I think he'll do it. I very highly doubt that the Yamaha's will be up there based on last weekend. As much as they say they don't know why they were fast, I think they do, because of the tyres. They won't have those tyres again. Mat O...

I had the videopass for a few years. Re: Yamaha electronics problems?

I know Maverick said that the changes they made they should have made months ago, but is that really the case? Many times both him and Yamaha have commented that they've turned the bike upside down searching for a resolution to the problem. I find it so odd and to be almost unbelievable that they di...

I guess I thought there was no way anti wheelie would allow that much wheelie. Just goes to show exactly how much effort these guys must be using on the bikes.
