Re: 2012 Round 17 Phillip Island Race Topic ***Spoilers***

Am I the only one around here not hoping the sky falls in on Lorenzo this weekend. The guy has run the perfect season and deserves to be champ. I hope it goes to the last round, but not through the misfortune of Jorge. And I don't think there will be any team orders from HRC. I'm sure they'll be per...

Re: On "Factory" CRT's

My personal bet would be 25% chassis and 80% engine/electronics. I agree with you. it seems impossible for them to catch up as the the numbers don't add up  I still think the chassis is the problem, the CRTs look like they have hopeless corner speed at every track. For example, the BQR is ...

Crutchlow is one of the smaller guys, I doubt he weighs more than a few kgs more than the front runners. Lorenzo trying to pop wheelies with him on the back was pretty funny. Spies season continues to be one of the worst I can remember for a factory rider. Outbraking himself at the start of the race...

I had to laugh at the onboard replay of Spies crash. I don't know how he did it - it looked like something a learner rider would do in a gravel carpark.

Crutchlow is impressive to watch, but in the race he's going to outbrake himself and Dovi will beat him again.

Go Dani!

Also, I need advice from my moto brethren... How uncool would it be to get a Ben Spies autograph on my already Rossi signed Ducati hat? Thoughts? Just put a big X through Rossi's scrawl... :D I think I remember a Powerslide thread where they got Casey to sign a HRC hat that had Dani's signature cro...

Re: Crutchlow to WSB?

Good luck to him for speaking his mind, but he's is kidding himself if he thinks he's entitled to a factory ride after getting well and truly beat by Dovi. Crutchlow should be grateful for an offer of the Tech3 seat, I bet DePuniet would be more than happy to take it off his hands...

Casey pop up for unannouced wildcard rides every now and then! Sometimes for Duc, sometimes for Honda. And then WSBK all of a sudden to get the feel of any different circuit. It would be pretty awesome to see Stoner do a Phillip Island wildcard for the next year or two. Would be a very tough ask bu...

I thought Rossi's crash was very unusual too, seemed to go down very early on approach to the corkscrew. I was a bit worried about the way he started walking aimlessly back towards the top of the track like he wasn't sure about what a dangerous spot he was in. I think if he has a genuine Yamaha offe...

WSBK better hope Spies doesn't return to the series and win first year back. Because that will truely cement it's position as a second rate series for washed up MotoGP riders.

Plus the riders often get it in their head that one particular bike is better than all the others, regardless of whether or not there is a difference in reality. ;)

Bradl's pass back on Hayden made the race for me. We're watching thinking Hayden is going to have a crack at the podium when Bradl runs a great line, surprises the hell out of Hayden who in typical style then drops another two places. Bradl has a very methodical approach to his races and is using th...

Re: Silly season 2013

Dovi deserves the factory seat at Yamaha, but I think Spies will get it thanks to his US passport. A lot is made of the advantages given to up and coming Spanish riders and the like (including from Ben), but the factories value having riders with ties to the American market. Not to say they don't de...

Failing Assens and Sachsenring type outcomes, even Tech3 would be competing for 5th on down positions. The CRT thingy is supposed to put everyone on a more equal footing and chance of winning races. Happier teams and sponsors. Sattelite bikes are never going to be what the full factory bike is, no ...

Great ride from Jack Miller, I was so nervous he was going to throw it away leading in the wet but he held it together for fourth. The last 3 races, the first prototype has finished 1:08, 1:04 and 1:03 behind the winner. Those include some higher speed / horsepower circuits, so things could get interesting if they can get closer at one of the slower tracks. Any thoughts on which tracks are the best for the underpowered CRT bik...

Low noise is particularly a benefit for offroad riding. A lot more kids could get into riding if they can do it quietly in dedicated areas closer to home. Also lets you ride undetected in areas where riding might be frowned upon ;) Where I'm from most families have at least 2 or more vehicles in the...

I'd prefer a grid with app. twelve factory and satellite bikes filled up with customer RCVs and M1s than having the grid fillers we have know. The teams can stay but give them better weapons than FTR Kawasakis etc. As this would make the championsips somewhat more competitive and that is what GPs a...
