Re: Round 8, 2020 season, Barcelona baby

Didn't look but I think Mir is starting one row ahead from Misano 1. I don't think Zarco/Pol will hold him up too long. But the Yamaha boys are coming to play. My gut says Rossi will fade and Maverick might get flustered. Fabio is a wild card. If Frankie's tummy holds up I think it will be him, Mir...

Re: Silly Season

Rossi will be announced at Petronas this weekend. https://the-race.com/motogp/rossi-finally-seals-2021-motogp-deal-announcement-this-week/ Sounds like the main issue was working out who will work for whom The story is that he is only at Petronas for one year, then when the team contracts finish at ...

Quartararo's long lap penalty. If he had got to do the long lap would he have held 3rd (aka Zarco) or not? I didn't see what the long lap penalty was on this track No, I wouldn't have thought he'd have kept 3rd if he had taken the long lap loop. There was a rider who took a penalty and crashed on t...

Shout out for how excellent Mir is riding... he was a phenomenon in Moto3, started to show real promise in Moto2 and now in MotoGP he looks so good. What impresses me the most is that everything seems calculated, he isn't scared of making a tough pass on anyone but they always seem fair and solid. R...

if that’s not enough to call BS on the track limits penalties I don’t know what is.. I disagree with this... it's the same for all riders and there has to be a limit somewhere. It used to be that they'd be buried in the gravel, I would rather them have the 'safety' of them having the run off, but t...

I think that chart is wrong... Mir and his team said it was an old tyre didn't they? In the slow motion shots you could visibly see how worn it was.

No way was it a new tyre.

Re: MotoGP R6 23-08 BMW M Grand Prix of Styria Red Bull Ring Spielberg

I'm seeing an inability to control emotion in Quartararo that I think will be an Achilles heel in a championship fight. Where? I saw him complain of the tyres, but not much else. Been a lot of arm waving already... but I kinda like seeing the emotion. There's a lot of drones in modern day sport, I ...

Possible pit lane start for Zarco, I wish I knew what this new evidence against him was. I just hope it's a safe uneventful weekend, to be honest. That’s the question really. Atm the evidence seems to be because Rossi said he should be punished. Is this the first time the rider in front has been pu...

Is it any different from when Marquez and Rossi collided in Argentina? Rossi took a line that Marquez wasn’t expecting and Marc’s front tyre his Rossi’s rear. There is a huge speed differential between the two but the actions are essentially the same IMO. We disagree regularly it seems  Marc h...

One thing to note - all the replays don't really show just how close Vinales was to being hit by a flying Ducati. There's a few pictures on Twitter floating about and it's easily as close if not closer than Rossi.

I don't want to witness anything like this again...

I thought it was very exciting when Can Oncu won that race in Moto3 a long time ago. I'm beginning to think your profile pictures are like the 'commentators curse'... you had Rossi, he stopped winning, you had Can Oncu, he never won again... now you have Nagashima and look what's happened to his se...

That was bonkers... I'm not sure I have ever seen anything quite like that. I'm not a religious person, but fack... someone was looking over Rossi and Vinales today. Kudos to both of them getting back out there for Race 2, that must have taken some real courage. I've had near misses on the road at n...

Re: Dovi done with Ducati after 2020

I might be speaking prematurely but I can def see Bagnaia being the ingredient to get Ducati to that next step of competitiveness. I would like to see Bagnaia get a shot on the factory bike, he started the year great until his injury. I guess it's likely to be between him and Zarco... Pecco is only...

On the coverage today there was an interview with a Ducati team bigwig, but I forget who. It wasn't Gigi if I remember correctly. When asked who would be in the Ducati factory team, he kept on saying that their priorities were Petrucci and Zarco. He sad that they would be on Ducatis, but they could...

According to Martin Raines on Twitter (a conversation with our own Mr Emmett), there has never been a 'privateer/satellite' champion and that it would be hard to consider any bike on the current grid to be anything other than a factory bike.

Is it adaption to new equipment? I think it plays a big part. Is it age? I think it plays a big part. Is it the strength of the competition? Well, nobody else has proven they can consistently beat Marc... yet. Is this specifically a 'Rossi' problem? Is it no Jerry Burgess to help sort out his bike?...

I hate to say it but perhaps Marc’s ambition outweighed even his prodigious amount of talent going after Maverick there in that spot. More seriously though, was his high-side just a simple matter of too much right wrist or could that have been an electronics malfunction?? Marc is one of the riders ...
