Re: CRT - The new prototypes

..it was interesting to see that Yamaha was prevented in putting the Carbs in the middle of the V as Honda held the patent for those during that period. I always thought that patents were not applicable in prototype racing. Is this still the case now? Are you sure that is true, “prevented”? Formula...

Re: Will there be a physical twin-spar Ducati MotoGP bike on

HOLY COW, we have a spyshot of the new Ducati twin-spar frame . It uses the current 800cc engine. I completely agree with Rats. Edit – removed a bunch of stuff that has been said a bunch of times before by a bunch of people. What would be awesome – what would be totally perfect - is if ex Honda F1 c...

Sounds like he may have suffered what Bradl suffered – the tire spinning on the rim - causing obtuse wear related to it vibrating (being out of sync with the rim weights.) Probably not. He would have known that. But I’ve always been massively perplexed by the fact that F1/MotGP/etc., run such low pr...

Re: Will there be a physical twin-spar Ducati MotoGP bike on

Well, I'm admitting I was wrong on this one. I can only take this as a sign that Ducati have completely lost any sense of direction and are floundering. These are clearly not the people you want on your side in the Zombie Apocalypse. LOL. Worded perfectly. And I too was wrong. Perhaps Ducati are th...

Re: Ducati goings on. Part 2.

Welcome pdcs46 . Regarding “all-hands” mechanics at testing events: to keep cost down they probably schedule only just who is required to capture the data (vs. say, turn a crashed bike(s) around in the minimal amount of time.) I think once they have the data they can all be in a room with whiteboard...

I'll be using my new aluminium Powerbook next round, that should give us the improvement we need to close the gap to the first group. @Ipso, well done. You're almost catching me in the standings now. ;) You’re still ahead of me. Drats. (You're no quitter.) I’m too tired from the race to even wink a...

MotM = Watching the Moto2 warmup Sunday (no announcers, but good ambient engine sound) and just long periods of time following Marquez around the track, for multiple laps, was itself one of the most sublime motorcycle performances I’ve ever witnessed. Many people here have already had this epiphany...

Re: Ducati goings on. Part 2.

What is interesting to me is the level of detailed scrutiny/passion/desire/poignancy for Ducati to do better, at the expense (it seems to me) of say Suzuki, or even when Kawasaki was around. Comparatively, why does Suzuki “not matter?” Are they “Just another Japanese company”? They matter, but why o...

Re: Will there be a physical twin-spar Ducati MotoGP bike on

If I’m not mistaken, during FP2 today Gavin & Nick stated that an aluminum twin-spar Ducati was tested at Mugello, but apparently has not seen the track since. We would need proof of that rumor to resolve this poll. How is that photo not captured? How? You’re “Paparazzi” fer Christ's sake! :D

Looking for his dropped pride?
Is making sure his asshole-camera is intact?
Trying to kick the rear-end out (like Casey does) around corners?
Is looking at the watch on his left wrist to see how much longer this shit has to go on.

Its going to be a Zzzzzzzzzz fest at the front tomorrow. :( The rest of the pack could produce a show though. :) So Pedrosa gets a great start and takes the lead easily in turn one, Stoner takes the lead back somewhere within the first three laps and runs away with it. Spies blows another start, an...

I think it’s crunch-time for Nick Harris . Did he mention “backyard move” 3 or 4 times in FP1?, each as if it were the first. Come on Nick! I think Rossi’s first run in FP1 was with the carbon fiber semi-monocoque bike, and his second run was with the aluminum version. Then Joe Caron Dawe stated Rossi was sticking with the alum version and going straight out for his third session. If all that is all true, then I think the alum version h...
