Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

I kind of got both racing and covid regulation combined last weekend. That's a shame Tumi, what kind of work do you do? Can you work from home or will you loose 2 weeks pay? This week I have vacation so that should be covered and for next week I can apply for some quarantine compensation as this wa...

Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

I kind of got both racing and covid regulation combined last weekend. In Friday I was marshaling at KymiRing for national race weekend but early Saturday morning got a message that I had been in connection with covid positive at work on Thursday so good bye marshaling and hello 14 day quarantine at ...

Re: Suggestions for a new bike

I've some experience with a F800S, not a lot as I don't have much time to ride these days. I bought it some years ago with 21 kkms on the clock, now it has 35 kkms. It doesn't have a shaft but belt drive was the reason why I chose it over a VFR. I might be happy with a GSX650 if they were built by s...

Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

I visited Kymiring yesterday evening... also wanted to say thanks for sharing the pics. going to be awesome with a track so close. Thank you, the track is 15 kms by road, 10 kms straight from my front door. I volunteered for marshal duties but I will be there next year. All the trouble with funding...

Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

Thanks Tumi, I had a look at a map to reconcile where on the circuit those pics were. I does look like they wouldn't of been ready but having said that the track itself looks finished, so it might of been possible to have it ready if it was fast tracked and there isn't too much significant work to ...

Re: Moto GP schedual and the corona virus...

This week weather permitting - it snowed 10 minutes ago - I'll cycle past Kymiring and I will take some pics of current state of the track. I'm not entirely convinced it would've been ready for a major event yet. I visited Kymiring yesterday evening - not the actual track, it has been fenced and ma...

Just a moment ago here in Finland the ban on public events for over 500 people was extended to end of July so Kymiring round has also gone.

Re: Jorge Lorenzo

I feel the need to write a line or two. I was never a real fan, watched him in 125s and 250s, saw him on podium with those lollipops. I thought he was a bit brash during his first seasons in MotoGP though preferred him to his team mate. Year after year I started to value him tiny bit higher and high...

Re: KTM better or worse

My opinion is clear on this. If I were to build a racing bike faster than Honda / Yamaha / Ducati, I wouldn't start by trying to copy their designs without prior experience with beam frames and expect the result to be better than the original ones.

I have read a few. Most of them are generic and quite boring. The one about Barry Sheene by Parrish and Harris was slightly above average I think.

Re: Qatar MotoGp until 2031

That is one round that won't be getting dropped to make room for Indonesia, Finland, Wales or India. Speaking of Finland, the upcoming Kymi Ring track is located about 10 kms from my house but I am a bit ambivalent about the whole deal. Take a look at the link, this is what the track looked like in...

Re: KTM better or worse

We can be quite sure KTM does not utilize exactly similar welding process nor use the same tyres Ducati did in 2009. I liked Kevin Cameron's articles in Cycle magazine in 1990s but he used quite a lot of space reminiscing his H1R which he bought and tuned for his rider in 1970. Also I am not complet...

Re: KTM better or worse

As much as I love to watch Pol riding, For development purpose, I would have kept Bradley Smith. Maybe a tad slower but much more consistent with a much smoother riding style. Bradley, or his management, burned his bridges with that threat of legal action against his own employer last year. I suspe...

Re: 2019 Testing

I don't see Zarco as 'much faster' than Pol or Bradley, comparing their Tech3 seasons Zarco never got the amount of points Bradley did in 2015, although I don't see Bradley as really fast rider either. So now Zarco notices a KTM front end problem, which, if solved, would make him, say, a second a la...

Re: Silly Season 2018

Silly season has been so silly that if you told me months ago that the rides and moves of Iannone, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Petrucci would all hinge mostly on the signing of Mir, someone that hasn't yet won a Moto2 race, I would have laughed. Exactly what I've thought recently. I would rather call this st...

Re: Silly Season 2018

Beirer sald last August KTM is looking for next Vinales or next Zarco (i.e. someone younger) so Pedrosa does not sound very likely on KTM. Dani can ride and likely develop a bike, however does KTM need a bike developed and optimized by someone weighing 51 kgs?

I'll be the guy to say it... As a cyclist you don't ride out into a road, past stop signs without stopping. Yeah... it's horrible that the subject of this investigation is Nicky Hayden, someone we all appreciated and admired, but the collision (in my mind) is his doing. To me, it doesn't matter wha...

Re: What's going on with Bradley Smith?

Just for fun... Bradley Smith on the Tech 3 in 2015 finished the season on 181 points. Johan Zarco, if he should win in Valencia would finish on 179 points. I have to say, I know I have short memory these days but that does put things into perspective. But, still, that only makes it even more inter...
