Forum updated - new style to be built soon

Hello all, Sorry the forum went off line for a few days. I made an important change to the server which meant the forum software (which was quite old) stopped working. We now have shiny new forum software, but currently, the default style is enabled. I will update this at some point. But at least th...

Re: 2020 rules posted

It shows up under the bodywork section. I can only suspect it might have to do with the template they had made up and tested out last year to check basic overall dimensions for body work. I'm guessing they don't want the template to be "thrown off" by changes to front forks lengths. I think there a...

Re: From Oz to Assen - anyone want to try meeting up?

Hi Folks, I'm taking a trip to Europe and Assen fell within the time so I'm going! In a moment of extravagance (a bucket list type thing, tho' I'm hopefully still a bit young for that lolz!) I took up one of those Pole Position Travel pit lane tickets, so I'll be mooching around the Petronas Yam ga...

I still like Jerry Burgess' solution: 4 gears instead of 6. Make power delivery more important.

Re: DON'T TOUCH MUGELLO !

I'm torn on the subject... I don't think it's the top speed of the bikes which is what makes us love this sport, but if the bikes become (already are...) too fast for these magnificent tracks, it would be a disaster to lose them off the calendar. Would excavating chunks of the hillside to expand ru...

Re: DON'T TOUCH MUGELLO !

I simply can't get my head arround the fact people would rather continue with the current bikes onTilke-tracks abandonning all the great tracks because of safety-issues, than using slower bikes and still have great racing on great tracks. The question is how do you persuade the factories to accept ...

Re: DON'T TOUCH MUGELLO !

Also, I do think this is an interesting discussion whether all of sudden we have reached the point where bikes have become too fast. It's not all of a sudden. This is a conversation I have been having with Mike Webb almost since the time I started working full time in MotoGP, and certainly since th...

Salary figures found online are usually wildly inaccurate. So inaccurate that they can go from being 100% correct to being out by 10 or even 100 times.

Oxley is saying that the spec IMU isn't making any difference. If Oxley is correct, then that means that no one was cheating https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/news/motogp/motogp-mutterings-control-imu-makes-no-difference-performance There were people cheating (I believe), but the gains were margin...

Re: How much should a rider know about bike set up?

On Max Oxley's "How I Ride" entry about Johann Zarco there's a pretty interesting discussion in the comments about his ignorance about bike setup and riding technique. He basically seems to go 100% on feel and feedback, relinquishing all technical duties and knowledge to the team. Sharp contrast wi...

Mugello tickets are pretty easy to get hold of. Check the MotoGP.com website for when they go on sale, https://tickets.motogp.com/en/21081-italy/tickets/. Alternatively, watch the Mugello Circuit Twitter feed (worth it for the pretty pictures as well!) https://twitter.com/MugelloCircuit And as I loo...

What they are looking at is the full detailed timesheets, like this one from Phillip Island: http://resources.motogp.com/files/results/2018/AUS/MotoGP/RAC/Session.pdf?v1_92f44f6f What they are doing is reviewing the race, looking where they were faster, looking at where their rivals were faster, loo...

Re: MOTOGP STATS

Marquez has face Rossi at the end of his career when he already had 7 World titles so it not exactly fair to say Marquez has faced Rossi. There were many great riders when rossi started in 500cc and in that time he had different engines, different manufacturers, so I could easily argue Marquez is n...

Re: MOTOGP STATS

Interesting of course, but Valentino Rossi didn't have to race against a rider of the stature of Valentino Rossi when he entered the class. The other three did. Lorenzo fast Rossi and Stoner. Marquez faced Rossi and Lorenzo.

Like all GOAT discussions, apples and oranges.

Hi Brendan,

That shouldn't happen. There are no posts pinned to the top of the main page.

Have you tried refreshing the page? Go there and press Ctrl+F5, which should force your browser to clear it. I think the key on a Mac is CMD+R.
