Re: Silly Season

I have a feeling that Oscar may have had a run in with the powers that be and taken his bat and gone home. :) I hope you are travelling well Dave. So-so Wayne. A road trip to a decent MotoGP race in Italy would help and fortunately my 2020 plans will transfer to 2021, as will my DFDS Seaways bookin...

Re: Silly Season

Now confirmed. Jack Miller has signed with the factory Ducati team for 2021. It is a one year deal with an option to extend to 2022. Damn - look at this! Seeing you back here I'm almost tempted to come out of retirement! The "Old Boys Club" is obviously missing Mick these days, but where's Oscar? ;)

Re: So... trying something different...

I wish that was the case for me too JanBros, but I really just don't look forward to going out on the road at the moment. I've no issue with myself or the bike... I just don't trust other people! An old friend of mine (ex Motocrosser and avid road rider) recently decided to quit road riding after a...

Re: Rat's 2006 Review - Now With Expert Analysis

Gentlemen, I feel out of place posting on this thread, but wanted to say thanks to all of you. I spent the past few months watching the 2006 season for the first time and the insights here were invaluable. I didn't get into riding and MotoGP until 2012 after I received "Fastest" for Christmas '11. ...

I asked the question. The answer was that it was a loose oil plug that caused the problem!

Re: Rossi

A rather curious thread which begs the question ----- ---- if Rossi is on "the drop off" what does it say about the riders who have finished behind him in the title chase over the last two years, some of whom were mounted on Factory machinery? A 38 year old rider will be starting his 350th race thi...

Ladies and Gentlemen - it appears that we have an "Alien in waiting" with Vinales!
He just needs to back up the pre-season promise with race wins! Does anyone think he can/can't??
Any bets for a win will be at low odds with some smart money on Lorenzo for a podium at the very least!

Re: MotoMania Mick! RIP!

Thanks for letting us know Albert, this is sad news. Mick was a genuine man and I often exchanged PM's with him back in the day. I don't post on this forum much anymore (if at all) but this news was enough to ensure I had to post something in his honour. RIP Mick I posted it to let people like your...

MotoMania Mick! RIP!

Mick Housel. I’m sure the name won’t mean much to some of you but I’m sad to tell you of the passing of Mick, AKA MotoMania, on Saturday 14th May. He was a long time member here, joining a few days before me in May, 2008 when MotoMatters was in it’s infancy. Along with myself and Oscar, Mick became...

Re: Agostini vs Rossi

Even with my Yellow tinted spectacle on ;) I honestly can't see Valentino overtaking Agostini's record! I have to be honest and say that the 10th title is looking out of reach as well, simply because there are too many riders in the current field with a good chance of winning races! If title 10 doe...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Le Mans. Who got dibs?

Lorenzo, Marquez, Rossi, Cal, Dovi. Based on the assumption that the "easy rider" Lorenzo will still be on top of his M1. Marquez second only because he may have a little more pinky pain over race distance. Rossi third because as much discomfort as I am in saying this, Lorenzo looks soooo good on t...

Re: MotoGP 2015, Le Mans. Who got dibs?

Always thought of Le Mans as more of a Honda track (although, since when has that meant anything!) It always used to count for something, but Qatar was being touted as a "Honda" track too, and look what happened there! Last year Marquez was blitzing everyone, and in the process was winning co...

MOTM Moto3 – Undoubtedly Danny Kent! He’s proving his potential title credentials every week! Winning from the front and winning when mixing it! Class Act! Hard to call anyone a DOTM in this class! MOTM Moto2 – Got to be Folger! Not that long since he was the next up and coming star - then he faded...

Having worked in a satellite engineering shop where there were only 7 of us producing the goods I can fully understand the "trust" issue with the crew! Just a couple of random thoughts re the Suzuki! It's commonly accepted that it's currently a little bit down on power but it handles really well. Who's to say it'll still handle well if they manage to (reliably) up the power output? I don't think it'll happen but bikes have been known to tie themse...

We're 3 races into the season and already the armchair warriors seem to be certain that Jorge is leaving Yamaha! Re: Common Software Development and Redefinig the Open Class

It's amusing how much the Open Class rules are coming in for discussion now that Ducati are racing well! It reminds me of the time that Norton wanted to race those fire-breathing Rotary engined beasts. The Japanese factories all agreed to allow this rather eccentric race bike to compete against the...
