2020 Teruel Moto2 Qualifying Result: Keep Calm And Carry On

The last action of the day was provided by the Moto2 class, where there was a rather predictable back to back pole position for Sam Lowes. To no one’s surprise, the British rider demonstrated to be the fastest man in the intermediate class throughout Q2 as well and even afforded to sit out the final couple of minutes. No one came close enough to make him nervous, although that was partly due to a late crash for Jorge Navarro, which prompted a yellow flag, although the Spaniard had claimed second on the grid before the crash. Remy Gardner did a solid job to join the front row, four tenths off Lowes’ benchmark.

Fabio Di Giannantonio will have another go at victory from fourth on the grid, ahead of a fairly impressive Marcos Ramirez and championship leader Enea Bastianini. Jake Dixon opens row three as the final man within half a second of the leader and followed by another solid performance from Hector Garzo and Augusto Fernandez.

Q1 leader Bo Bendsneyder rounded out the top ten and will be joined on the front row by Q1 colleague Luca Marini and Jorge Martin, although the Spaniard should expect a visit to the stewards after a post-session temper tantrum with Marco Bezzecchi. The Italian is supposed to start one row behind, between Joe Roberts and Edgar Pons.
