Well well well....
The season gets interestinger and interestinger... The measure of Lorenzo's challenge will be how he negotiates his two bogey tracks of Assen and Sachsenring, that should be fascinating. Meanwhile Rossi is racking up the podiums and is well within striking distance of Marc. Zarco, Dovi and Vinales all fading away... but then again two and a half weeks ago Lorenzo was washed up and likely out of a ride. Things change fast in Motogp. :)
On the other hand,
drying/wetting conditions during the race at a "Lorenzo track" would play into the hands of Márquez.
Oops
Sorry I read the standing incorrectly and posted about only a 12 point difference rather than 22 between second and ninth so I've edited this comment to remove my error laden thoughts.
Irony
It’d be ironic if Vale ended up getting his 10th title this year, when he doesn’t really look like a serious contender. However, after the last two weekends I imagine all eyes are on Jorge. Which would be even more ironic, but somehow less surprising. All it takes if for Marc to have a couple of dnf’s.
what happened with jack
????
2nd through 9th looks interesting
2nd through 9th looks interesting. 3rd - 9th even more so.
When I scroll up such that Marc is of the screen it looks wide open. Going to enjoy the battle for 2nd and 3rd.
So sorry to see Dovi having all the DNF's. Perhaps he can get one of Marquez's reset buttons? Vale's garage did very well w the bike in hot conditions today. Jorge made for a less than exciting race after the opening, but this still held my interest. Tip of the hat to the very hungry Iannone and a capable Suzuki.
Is anyone still wondering if we have "Ducati tracks?" I am not.
we are not friends, we are rivals, but have huge Respect ...
when Jorge made that comment in post race press conf, it was goosebumps...
so matured, and proud of himself, rivals and sport.
Go Jorge, I would love to see you win more races this season, before you signoff that Ducati.
And correcting his own
And correcting his own comment about Rossi being "good", then adding Champion. Domenicali should take note.
As an aside, Lorenzo, and this is a big IF, could find himself in 3rd in the points by the end of his next race...
true, Ducati rushed a bit too
true, Ducati rushed a bit too much to push him outside with all the negative comments. And now left with Dovi and Petrucci for 2019. Bike will have improved a lot, both great riders, but Championship material or not.... only time will tell.
Never been a big fan of Dovi,
Never been a big fan of Dovi, and I don't understand all the love. Has a hot run last season, and now he is a contender? Bostrom had a period in World Supers where he kicked ass for about 6 races in a row, other than that no domination. I look at it as the same thing. Last year the Ducati was in a sweet spot vs the Honda, and that explains his performance, not the "new zen Dovi" BS. Next year the Corsa will be adrift (Petrux, sweet funny guy, but a factory ride???), Miller might beat them all.
finally!
Someone who's not afraid to call a spade a spade. Dovi had a window last season with both Yamaha and Honda's bikes not fully sorted and JL trying to find his feet on witht he Duc. This essentially making the Aliens vulnerable at times. Dovi on a better sorted Ducati was able to take advantage of this perfect storm, but in the end the lights were just a little to hot & bright for him and he folded like a lawn chair to which Marc neatly put away in the hall closet.
Tip of the hat to Iannone?
Really Motoshrink? He was near the bottom of the 14 finishers when almost 50% of the field DNF’d-after leading briefly..?
i like the chap but something (or someone..) faded pretty badly.
If Lorenzo can make a few more races that boring I’d take it-feeling the pressure rise as he claws MM back inch by inch. You’d also bet that-if that the door begins to creak open-MM may not correct every crash...
