first saw that innovation on the carbon framed Skoal Bandit Suzuki RG500 back in the 80's. Always wondered why it never caught on... thoughts David?

The advantages are a lower rotating mass, but the disadvantages are that the brakes tend to overheat and they tend to make the bike sit up under braking. Or at least, that's what those who have ridden Buells in anger have told me.
