After just a day's rest after the end of the 2009 World Superbike championship, the Superbike field - old and new - are back in action at Portimao. Johnny Rea was the fastest on the first day of the two-day test, finishing a couple of tenths ahead of Michel Fabrizio. Cal Crutchlow was 3rd fastest, confirming that his World Supersport title was no fluke by finishing ahead of Noriyuki Haga on Crutchlow's first time out on the Yamaha World Superbike machine.

Praia on a Ducati? WTH?

MotoSprint
That's what MotoSprint says, anyway. It's probably a mistake, but the published times vary from website to website, and this was the most complete list I could find.
Different Source
Took the times from the WorldSBK website instead of MotoSprint. So who knows, maybe they are more reliable there ...
That eliminates some confusion...
....and then creates some anew. ;)
Lascorz on a ZX-10? Whose? (working the kinks out for CV, perchance?)
Gah. I need to move to Europe quickly. This is maddening...

???
I am curious about this as well. I would love to see Lascorz in Superbike but I'd really rather see him on better equipment.
I'd actually be willing to bet Lascorz would do better than CV if they are both on ZX-10s.
JT off the pace?

Who wants to play armchair psychologist?
laps
How many laps did Crutchlow get in over the weekend on a track JT's never seen?
JT & CC
JT's just taken god knows how many hours to travel from Sepang to Portimao. First day in the saddle with a travel zombie head, new bike, new track. Times mean nothing. Besides CC bounced on his bonce also, as he is prone to do.
Yes Lascorz on the 10 intrigues me too. Just a fling or the real thing?
