Results from all three Superpole sessions at Monza:
Superpole 1:
Eugene Laverty was the first rider to put in a serious attempt at pole, but the Yamaha man was soon blown aside by Max Biaggi, the Aprilia RSV4 blisteringly fast at Monza. Johnny Rea took an early lap to grab 3rd, but the Ulsterman was soon bumped down to 5th as first Leon Haslam and then Leon Camier blew by to snatch 2nd and 3rd, knocking Laverty down to 4th. Sylvain Guintoli looked destined to be knocked out of Superpole, but the Frenchman put in a flying last lap to save his spot, which championship leader Carlos Checa hung on by a few hundredths to 12th place and was through to Superpole 2.
Out after Superpole 1: Joan Lascorz, Tom Sykes, Jakub Smrz, Maxime Berger

Superpole 2
Max Biaggi was the fastest rider out of the traps, but it was Johnny Rea who deposed the Aprilia rider from the top spot. A few moments later, Rea was himself brushed aside, first by Eugene Laverty, and then by Marco Melandri. Fast laps by Michel Fabrizio and Ayrton Badovini suddenly left Leon Camier and Leon Haslam in the danger zone, though Haslam pulled a fast lap out of the bag in the dying seconds to go 5th and make it through to Superpole 3. Carlos Checa looked like saving himself from relegation with 3 minutes to go, but his lap was only good enough for 9th, and then a run on through the first chicane meant his next fast lap got deleted, the Spaniard unable to improve again.
Out after Superpole 2: Ayrton Badovini, Leon Camier, Carlos Checa, Sylvain Guintoli

Superpole 3:
Max Biaggi seized the early initiative again during the final session of Superpole, going top on his first attempt, but with plenty of room for improvement. Eugene Laverty and Leon Haslam attempt to assault the Roman Emperor's position, but both fell short, Laverty only just, Haslam by four tenths of a second. But in the final minutes of the session, Biaggi upped the pace once again, far beyond anything the others could follow, taking four tenths of a second off his own pole record from last year, and setting the first 1'41 lap of the Monza circuit.
Eugene Laverty was left in 2nd spot, ahead of Johnny Rea and Troy Corser, while Marco Melandri heads up the second row of the grid from Leon Haslam, Michel Fabrizio and Nori Haga. Current championship leader Carlos Checa will start the race from 11th, in the middle of the third row of the grid.
