Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 338: Mugello Preview And Matt Roberts Interview

By David Emmett | Tue, 06/06/2023 - 11:43

After three weekends away, MotoGP is back at Mugello. Adam Wheeler, Neil Morrison, and David Emmett look ahead to motorcycle racing's greatest stage, and ask what might happen this weekend. We touch on Pol Espargaro's decision to not race at Mugello, but his hope to return before the summer break. And we ask whether we will see a return of the crowds after last year's disappointing attendance numbers.

Then we have Matt Roberts on the show. Matt is a man of many talents: author, broadcaster, journalist, presenter, and much more. Matt talks about his decade of working in MotoGP, his history with Casey Stoner, and the biography he wrote of the Australian legend, his view of WorldSBK and BSB, and his work presenting at the TT. Matt also gives us some great insight into the difficulties facing riders trying to get into MotoGP from outside of the standard route of FIM CEV Junior Championship, Red Bull Rookies, and more, and why that makes it difficult for British riders to find a place.

Thanks again team.

Renthal Street don't ship to Australia. I'm disappointed but never mind.

Walking from from Mugello circuit to the train station, Sunday after the Gp, was quicker than driving. Rather wild traffic.
