2013 Nurburgring World Superbike Race Two Result: Deja Vu All Over Again

For the second Superbike race in a row at the Nurburgring curcuit, a red-flagged race handed a premature victory to a lead rider. For Race Two, it was BMW's Chaz Davies who ended up the beneficiary after a race-long fight with Aprilia's Eugene Laverty and Marco Meandri, Davies' temmate at BMW. Laverty finished second, a tenth of a second back with Melandri in third another two-tenths behind.

2013 Nurburgring World Supersport Race Result: An Advantage Is Consolidated

Yamaha’s San Lowes won the Supersport race at the Nurburgring circuit Sunday, finishing far out in front of the Kawasaki of second-place finisher Fabian Foret. Kev Coghlan secured a third place, the Kawasaki rider’s first-ever podium in World Supersport.

Championship contender and former champion Kenan Sofuglu crashed out of the race early on. Although he remounted, the Turkish rider retired on lap 10 with his bike too badly damaged to continue.

Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes won a red-flagged Race One at Nurburgring circuit Sunday after a crash put both Honda rider Jonathan Rea and Suzuki’s Leon Camier into the hospital. BMW teammates Marco Melandri (second) and Chaz Davies (third) rounded out the podium.

2013 Nurburgring World Superbike Superpole Result: Wet Superpole Throws Riders A Curveball


It rained during Superpole at the Nurburgring, and so World Superbikes used the wet format, which sees two sessions of twenty minutes, rather than three shorter sessions. Ayrton Badovini saved the honor of Ducati taking pole for Sunday's WSBK races, putting the bike ahead of BMW's Marc Melandri and Kawasaki's Tom Sykes.
