2013 Silverstone MotoGP WUP Result: Marquez Leads Crash Strewn Session But Dislocates Shoulder

Marc Marquez looked all set to have a perfect start to race day at Silverstone, heading the time sheets for the majority of the warm-up. However late in the session he suffered a nasty crash, landing heavily on his left side. The Spaniard went down directly after Cal Crutchlow had taken a big spill ahead of him, his bike careered into Crutchlow's machine which was stranded in the gravel trap.

Marquez was later taken to the medical centre for an inspection of a possible left collarbone injury, the incident having the potential for far-reaching effects of today's proceedings and the overall championship race.

Gutted for Marquez but plenty

Gutted for Marquez but plenty of riders trying to do their quali time in the cold conditions this morning with no points to be gained. Dani back in the box seat?? Lot of tracks he likes to come..
Yamaha give Rossi a neutral frame, the yam should rule braking and corner entry but Jorge's 250 styly has handed that advantage to Honda.

I agree

but it is too late for Rossi now and all i hope is that the next season Yamaha makes some drastic changes that will benefit both riders not just JL.

Punishment

I hope Marquez is penalized for that accident. yellow flags waved, means back off. that could of been very, very nasty indeed.

Could this be the straw that breaks…

Could this be the straw that breaks the Bridgestone control tyre?

We've been blessed with powerful, loose and safe MotoGP bikes since 2002. The riders have remained relatively healthy, until 2013 when the high side returned.

This is a great shame when there is total control over the tyres.

Nah

Racing motorcycles is just dangerous at the pace they're going.
