VR no longer a wizard..
2011 Duke campaign..I don't know.. I was waiting for first test, than this one..It doesn't look good. Gonna be pretty much a disaster I'm afraid..Still one sec off.
have you learned nothing?
of course us rossi fans could be wrong....but...write rossi off at your peril! we wont really see what he van do on the duke until the circus gets to europe...i dont even count quatar...
1s off Stoner. For the rest
1s off Stoner. For the rest of the serious contenders, .5s or less. It looks like Stoner has it pretty much wrapped up. It's going to be fascinating to see how Pedrosa and Puig respond. When do we expect the back stabbing and sniping to start from that side of the garage?
And so the hype builds once more
Rossi done for at a second off Stoner? As is everyone else after the first day of a three day test?! Ha ha. All the main protagonists still look to be in very good shape to me.
and...
Rossi is going from the smoothest bike on the grid to the most violent....stoner has gone from the most violent to the fastest and possibly the second smoothest...what did you think would happen??...imagine if you went to work and had to lift 80lb boxes in a factory all day, then you got a new job and you got to lift 20lb boxes all day....which one would you find easier??...the Ducati has destroyed everyones carreer in gp(except stoner)...stoner is a great tallent but had rossi gone back to honda even with his damaged shoulder he would be a little further up. give it time people give it time!...Rossi will nor quit and we all know by now that if you can tame the red devil you can win
This from rossi's mechanic via twitter
most of the top guys went out late & pushed 4 a time. We decided against it 4 today. Might have a crack at it 2morrow.
VR was 4th until 1pm today - I for one am not prepared to count him out!!
But... Stating the obvious - Damn Stoner is Fast!!!
As Twittered by Alex Briggs
"Most of the top guys went out late and pushed for a time.
We decided against it for today. Might have a crack at it tomorrow."
So Rossi isn't that far off then is he :)
Come now people...
For goodness sakes, we are in the middle of testing at the moment.
The only things that are obvious at this point are 1) Stoner loves his new ride, 2) the hondas are very fast, 3) Vale is coming along well and is progressing about as expected.
On the last day of this test we will maybe get a little taste of what may happen at Qatar (if it actually happens given the current mess in the middle east). Today and tomorrow they are just warming up.
Go Spies!
All I want is good racing
And it looks promising with Stoner attacking the Honda, Pedrosa (no longer the Pedrobot) sublimely fast, Lorenzo's ego/talent at full swell, Spies on a factory Yam, and Rossi...to dismiss a 9-time world champ after he's had only a couple tests on the machine seems, well, foolish. Plus, Simoncelli is showing promise, Nicky has ability and has the cool head to work on race pace and development, and who knows what may come from Dozy and the newcomers? All I want is good racing...
As anticipated Day 1
Good to see Elias finding his way back after the last test. Capirex looks as though he may have a hard time besting Abraham's efforts by close of play on Thursday.Mind you,I guess like Rossi, all the Ducati riders decided not to go for a fast lap or two after much adjustment to get closer to the front ?
Looks like Colin is 'geeing' himself up for a much better 2011.
Go Colin!!
Good to see Colin near the top. Sure its just the first day but good to see him making progress.
Also, looks like Elias might be coming around, hopefully they found some solutions. Can't wait to see him hanging off the Honda this year. Rossi is clearly getting more comfortable, but my man Stoner is looking too consistent. He's my early choice this year for sure!
Aoyama looks better and better every test. Something tells me Super Sic will be near the top when this test is over.
YAHOO!
FINALLY ... we are getting closer to the 2011 season!
I'm definitely not writing off Rossi. He didn't run the soft tires and his shoulder isn't there yet ... and the Ducati is improving. I'm more concerned to see Hayden so far down the list at this stage.
Stoner is blisteringly fast and consistently so. Hopefully Ducati improves so we all have some great racing this season!
Cheers to motomatters and MotoGP!
