2010 Phillip Island WSS QP2 Results - Surprise Entrant On Front Row

Results of qualifying for the World Supersport class at Phillip Island:

After such a strong showing in practice so far this weekend, it came as no surprise that Joan Lascorz should continue that performance and take pole for tomorrow's World Supersport race at Phillip Island. Most impressive of all was the way in which the Spaniard did it, by smashing Kenan Sofuoglu's previous pole record by very nearly half a second. Kenan Sofuoglu and his Ten Kate teammate Michele Pirro tried to catch the Motocard Kawasaki rider, but though both men also broke Sofuoglu's previous mark, neither could match the pace of Lascorz. Eugene Laverty rounds out the front row.
