Results:
Noriyuki Haga ran away with the second World Superbike race at Magny-Cours, leading away from the start. Max Biaggi and Jonny Rea could follow, but only at a distance. Ben Spies could manage only a 4th place, giving back a big chunk of points to Haga. Haga now leads the championship by 10 points, and Ben Spies needs to win both Superbike races at the final Portimao round, in three weeks' time.

Fabrizio win in Imola
So Ben just needs to win the next two races at Portimao for the championship. Not easy but still in his control. How important are those 5 points Haga loss to Fabrizio in Imola now. If Haga loses the championship because of race wins, having the same points as Spies, I would think Ducati would not be very happy. Maybe Fabrizio is making up for taking Spies out a few races back.
