Fairing Holes

Jorge had holes in his fairing for the race and some, but not all, practice sessions. I think this is the first year I've seen a non-ducati with this type of venting. Has anyone heard anything about their efficacy? Thanks.

Fairing holes

I've asked a few people about this. The riders who have it think it works, the riders who don't have it don't think it works, and one Moto3 crew chief I asked about it said the only difference it made was between the rider's ears. Make of that what you will...

Never been to Phillip Island,

Never been to Phillip Island, let alone been to Australia but based on some topographic and aerial maps I have seen of the circuit and its proximity to the Bass coast I think it would be nice if more race circuits were built within proximity of a coast --- I could imagine the coastal winds adding a level of strategy to the overall race.
